새로운 회장의 취임은 협회의 미래 비전과 발전 전략을 구체화하는 중요한 계기가 될 전망입니다.
(사)한국현대디자인협회는 창립 초창기부터 ‘실험 정신’과 ‘국제 디자인 교류’라는 두 가지 핵심 가치를 토대로
한국 디자인의 지평을 넓혀 왔습니다. 국내외 다양한 디자인 행사와 협력 사업을 통해 한국적 디자인 문화의 깊이를 키우고
세계적 감수성을 갖춘 디자인 생태계를 구축하는 데 중추적 역할을 해왔습니다.
이민형 회장은 취임 소감에서 “KECD가 지난 56년간 쌓아온 역사적 가치를 기반으로 다음 시대의 디자인 환경을 주도할 준비를
본격화하겠다”며 “한국 디자인의 새로운 방향성과 국제적 경쟁력을 창출하는 데 협회가 중심이 될 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.
KECD는 이번 신임 회장의 취임을 계기로 전통을 잇는 동시에 변화하는 디자인 패러다임 속에서
협회의 ‘다음’을 만들어갈 체계적 전략을 전개할 계획입니다.

officially took office as the new chairman of the Korea Modern Design Association (KECD) on Jan. 24.
Professor Lee's inauguration is expected to be an important opportunity to shape the association's future vision and
development strategy as the KECD, which has grown with the history of Korean visual design since its foundation in 1969,
faces a new task of the times.
Since its inception, the Korea Modern Design Association has broadened the horizons of Korean design based
on two core values: the "spirit of experimentation" and "international design exchange." It has played a pivotal role in
enhancing the depth of Korean design culture and building a design ecosystem with global sensitivity through
various design events and cooperation projects at home and abroad.
Chairman Lee Min-hyoung said in his inauguration speech, "We will start preparing to lead the design environment of
the next era based on the historical values that the KECD has accumulated over the past 56 years," adding,
"The association will be centered on creating a new direction and international competitiveness of Korean design."
With the inauguration of the new chairman, KECD plans to carry out a systematic strategy that will continue tradition and
create the association's "next" in a changing design paradigm.
