제3회 2025 대만 국제 SDGs 이미지 디자인 초청전이 8월 16일 토요일에 성대하게 개막합니다. 전시장은 대만 타이중（台中）시에 위치하고 있는 동해（東海）대학교 루시이 교회 옆 야외에 마련됩니다. 2023년부터 동해대학교 창의디자인 및 예술학부 허화제（許和捷） 학장이 유엔이 정한 17개 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)를 바탕으로 디자인 전시를 기획하여, 이미지를 통해 목소리를 내고, 창작을 실천하며 지속가능발전의 다양한 관점을 탐구하고, 사회의 이슈에 대한 관심과 대화를 열어가고 있습니다. 빈곤 퇴치, 성평등, 교육 보급, 환경 보호, 기후 행동, 지속가능 도시 등 다양한 주제를 그리며 인류와 지구가 공존·공영하는 청사진을 제시합니다. 다원화된 시대 배경 속에서 디자인은 단순한 미학의 표현을 넘어 가치 전달과 행동 촉구의 역할을 수행합니다.
SDGs 이념을 홍보하고 사회적 영향력을 심화하기 위해 본 전시는 동해대학교, 중화민국미술디자인협회, KECD 한국현대디자인협회가 공동 주최합니다. 중화민국미술디자인협회와 KECD는 각각 두 나라에서 가장 오래 설립된 전국 단위의 디자인 협회입니다. KECD는 문화체육관광부 산하 법인 기관으로, 세계디자인기구(ico-D)의 회원 단체이며, 과거에는 서울올림픽 디자이너인 백금남 고문, 그리고 현재까지 250명이 넘는 한국 디자인 관련 대학 교수 및 전문 디자이너가 회원으로 활동하고 있습니다. 이번 한국의 대표단으로는 KECD 유윤호 회장, 인덕대학 교수 이민형 수석 부이사장, 중앙대 교수 김희현 부회장, 추호영 기획이사, 이가화 부회장 등이 참석하며, 모두 세계적으로 유명한 디자이너들입니다. 중화민국미술디자인협회는 설립 60년의 역사를 가지고 있으며, 협회장인 첸수진（陳秀真） 은 대만 세신（世新）대학교 시각영상디자인학과 조교수로서 국내외에서 여러 상을 수상한 바 있습니다.
KECD 유윤호회장의 작품에서 “평화는 경제, 환경, 기후, 에너지, 식량 문제를 해결하는 궁극적 목표”임을 강조하며, 상호 존중과 배려의 평화가 세상의 생명 가치를 높인다고 주장합니다.
중화민국미술디자인협회 첸수진（陳秀真） 협회장은 <당신의 아름다움, 우리가 소중히 여깁니다!!>라는 작품에서 곡선의 선들이 그녀의 연약한 머리카락을 그리듯, 산맥의 혈관, 해발 고도의 험준함, 기후 변화가 그녀의 윤곽을 조용히 바꾸는 모습을 표현하며, “소중히 여기는 것만이 지속 가능하다!”는 메시지를 전달합니다. 지금 또는 미래의 순간에도 주저하지 말아야 함을 강조합니다.
허화제（許和捷） 창의예술대학 학장은 <수자원을 소중히 여겨야 한다, 생명의 지속 가능성>이라는 작품에서 물방울과 생물 다양성의 상징을 연계하고, <태극 순환>의 개념을 더하여, 한 방울의 물이 생명의 원천임을 강조합니다.
이번 전시에는 대만 국내외를 비롯한 까오송광고창의협회, 타이난미술디자인협회, 중화평면디자인협회, 상하이미술가협회, 난징디자인연합, 공저우대학 등도 참여해줍니다. 대만 국내외 디자인작가와 대학 교수들이 출품한 작품은 24개국에서 116점에 달하며, 국내 작품은 41점, 해외 작품은 75점입니다.
총 작품수는 116점으로, 국내 41점, 해외 75점이 출품되었으며, 해외 디자이너는 73명, 23개국에서 참여하였습니다. 아시아권은 한국, 중국, 일본, 말레이시아, 인도네시아 등, 미주권은 미국, 캐나다, 아르헨티나 등, 유럽권은 독일, 헝가리, 덴마크 등입니다.
The 3rd Taiwan International SDGs Image Design Invitational Exhibition 2025 will grandly open on Saturday, August 16. The exhibition venue is set outdoors, next to the Luce Memorial Chapel at Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan.
Since 2023, Dean Hsu Ho-chieh (許和捷) of Tunghai University’s College of Creative Design and Art has curated this exhibition based on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The exhibition aims to raise voices through imagery, put creativity into practice, and explore diverse perspectives on sustainable development while opening conversations on pressing social issues. Themes include poverty eradication, gender equality, education, environmental protection, climate action, and sustainable cities—together presenting a blueprint for the coexistence and co-prosperity of humanity and the Earth.
In today’s pluralistic era, design goes beyond aesthetic expression to play the role of value transmission and a call to action.
To promote SDG ideals and deepen social impact, the exhibition is jointly organized by Tunghai University, the Chinese Society of Arts and Design (CSAD), and the Korea Environmental & Cultural Design Association (KECD). Both CSAD and KECD are the oldest national-level design associations in their respective countries. KECD is a corporate body under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Korea and a member of the International Council of Design (ico-D). It has counted among its members renowned designers such as Baek Geum-nam, designer of the Seoul Olympics, and continues to include over 250 professors and professional designers in Korea.
The Korean delegation includes KECD President Yu Yun-ho, Prof. Lee Min-hyung (Induk University, Senior Vice Chairman), Prof. Kim Hee-sun (Chung-Ang University, Vice President), Chu Ho-young (Executive Director), and Lee Ka-hwa (Vice President), all of whom are internationally recognized designers.
The Chinese Society of Arts and Design, with a 60-year history, is led by Chairwoman Chen Hsiu-chen (陳秀真), Assistant Professor at Shih Hsin University’s Department of Visual Communication Design, who has received numerous awards both domestically and internationally.
In his work, KECD President Yu Yun-ho emphasizes that “Peace is the ultimate goal in resolving economic, environmental, climate, energy, and food challenges.” He advocates that mutual respect and caring peace elevate the value of life in the world.
Chen Hsiu-chen (陳秀真), Chairwoman of CSAD, presents her work “Your Beauty, We Cherish!!” where curved lines trace fragile strands of hair like mountain veins, while altitude and climate change quietly alter her contours. She conveys the message that “Only what we cherish can be sustainable,” stressing that hesitation must not exist, whether now or in the future.
Dean Hsu Ho-chieh (許和捷), with his work “Cherish Water Resources, Sustain Life”, integrates symbols of water droplets and biodiversity with the concept of Taiji circulation, emphasizing that a single drop of water is the very source of life.
This year’s exhibition also welcomes participation from organizations including the Kaohsiung Advertising & Creativity Association, the Tainan Art & Design Association, the Chinese Graphic Design Association, the Shanghai Artists Association, the Nanjing Design Federation, and Guangzhou University, among others.
A total of 116 works have been submitted by both domestic and international designers and professors, representing 24 countries. Of these, 41 are domestic works from Taiwan, and 75 are international works created by 73 overseas designers from 23 countries. Participants span Asia (Korea, China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia), the Americas (USA, Canada, Argentina), and Europe (Germany, Hungary, Denmark), reflecting a truly global dialogue on sustainable development through design.
