협회소개

본 (사)한국현대디자인협회(Korea Ensemble of Contemporary Design)는 1969년 창립된 (사)한국현대디자인실험작가협회의 정통성을 계승하고, '한국 시각디자인의 질적 향상 및 시각디자인에 대한 국민적 이해의 향상, 그리고 디자인을 통해 사회에 봉사하고, 세계디자인 발전에 일익을 담당한다.'는 목표 아래, 융복합 디자인의 새로운 시대적 요구에 부응하고 이를 선도하기 위하여 '산업으로서의 디자인'을 넘어 '문화로서의 디자인'이라는 새로운 이념과 각오로 2010년 새롭게 출발한 시각디자인 단체입니다.

Korea Ensemble of Contemporary Design inherits the legitimacy of the Korean Contemporary Design Experimental Artists Association, which was founded in 1969, and is dedicated to "improving the quality of Korean visual design and We are a visual design organization that started anew in 2010 with a new philosophy and resolve: to improve national understanding of the world of design, serve society through design, and play a role in the development of world design.

그 동안 본 (사) 한국현대디자인협회는 세계그래픽디자인단체협의회(ico-D)의 한국 대표 정회원 단체로써, 현재 250여명의 회원을 중심으로 어떤 협회보다 활발한 작품연구를 통한 전시 및 기타 디자인 관련 활동을 통해, 대내적으로는 한국 정부 및 국내 많은 지방자치단체와의 디자인 협력사업을 통해 로컬리즘을 실천하고 있으며, 대외적으로는 정기적인 서울-아시아 그래픽포스터 트리엔날레 개최 및 DESPA 사업(개발도상국 디자인교육 지원사업), 아시아 각 대학들과의 국제 디자인 세미나 개최 등 다양한 사업을 통한 아시아 디자인 단체의 리더로써 그 역할을 다하고 있을 뿐 만 아니라 비아시아 국가를 중심으로 하는 United Designs 국제디자인비엔날레전을 개최하고 있으며 ico-D, UNESCO 등의 국제기구와 세계 유수의 대학, 디자인단체 등과의 활발한 디자인 교류활동을 통해 아시아를 넘어 글로벌리즘을 실천하고 있습니다.
Meanwhile, the Korean Contemporary Design Association, as the Korean representative regular member organization of the International Council of Graphic Design Organizations (ico-D), currently has over 250 members, and is more active in exhibiting works through research than any other association. Through other design-related activities, we practice localism domestically through design cooperation projects with the Korean government and many local governments in the country, and externally through the regular Seoul Asia Graphic Poster Triennale and DESPA. In addition to fulfilling his role as a leader of Asian design organizations through various projects such as projects (design education support projects in developing countries) and holding international design seminars with universities in Asia, he also plays a role as a leader of Asian design organizations mainly in Biasian countries. We hold the International Design Biennale and practice globalism beyond Asia through active design exchange activities with international organizations such as ico-D and UNESCO, as well as the world's leading universities and design organizations.

이와 같이 본 협회는 로컬리즘과 글로벌리즘을 동시에 실천함으로써 세계적이면서도 한국적인 아름다운 디자인 문화를 꽃 피우는데 일익을 담당하고 있습니다.

In this way, by practicing localism and globalism at the same time, the association is playing a role in the blossoming of a beautiful design culture that is both global and Korean.

눈부신 미디어의 발전과 함께 소통과 융합의 시대를 맞이하여 국제화 시대의 문화적 소통과 학문 간의 융합이 어우러져 보다 새로운 디자인의 영역을 생성하고 있는 지금, 본 협회는 막중한 시대적 소임을 겸허히 받아드리며 우리 협회에 맡겨진 사회적 책임과 시대적 소명인 공공성을 위한 사회참여, 디자인 문화정책의 제안, 한국 디자인의 국제적 지위향상 등의 주어진 역할을 충실히 감당하여 한국 디자인 발전에 밑거름이 되도록 노력하겠습니다.

With the development of dazzling media, we have entered an era of communication and fusion, and in the era of internationalization, cultural communication and interdisciplinary fusion are harmonizing, creating new areas of design.This association is committed to responding to important trends of the times. We humbly accept this responsibility and fulfill the social responsibility entrusted to us as an association and the role that we have been given, which is to participate in society for the sake of the public, propose design culture policy, and improve the international status of Korean design. We strive to be faithful and generous and serve as a foundation for the development of Korean design.
